Who am I? I am Buffalo (aka Stephanie). I am a moderator at Digitalpoint Forums, and at WebMastersHelp Forum. I am an Vice-Administrator at the forums on SEO.com. I am also a member at WebtalkForums, but I don’t go by “buffalo” there. My user name there shall remain a mystery, just because I like to be mysterious. I’m also a mini-Squid Geek at Squidoo.
Why am I doing this? Mostly because I love the Olympics. I got the idea of running an Olympic Forum just a few weeks before the Beijing Olympics began. I quickly bought a domain (www.beijingamesforum.com) and started up a forum. The forum grew nicely, but on a modest level. Partly because I had no clue what I was doing. But by the time the games were over, the forum had nearly 100 members. I had earned a small profit, learned a ton, and had a great time. As I was working on the Beijing Forum, many people told me that it was a great idea, but I should have started it a year earlier. I agreed, so I went and registered vancouvergamesforum.com so I can have it ready to go long before the Vancouver Olympics begin.
The domain is vancouvergamesforum.com, so why is this a blog? I’ve fielded that question a few times already, so I should probably answer it here, before anyone asks again. I think it’s a little too early to start a Vancouver Olympic forum. I think the forum will do better once it gets closer to the opening of the games in February 2010. And since I had this nice domain here, I wanted to do something useful with it. I’ve always wanted to learn how to do WordPress, and this was the perfect place to do that. So that is why I have a WordPress blog on my forum domain. See? It makes more sense than you thought it would, doesn’t it?
