Wow, the whales swimming across the floor were incredible. That boy flying through the sky landing on the plains was fantastic and KD Lang killed it. Her voice, that song, the starry lights. That was beautiful. I was moved!

Vancouver has been continually ranked as the world's most livable city. An Olympic sized-dose of gentrification would only serve to speed up Vancouver's transformation from a livable yet expensive city into a glitzy hotel for international capital.

The games havent even started and theres already been one death. Vancouver needs to pick up the pace a bit and start creating the Olympic spirit! So far they are blaming the death of the Luger on bad skills. But maybe the problem is in the system instead.

With Canada’s opportunity to win gold on home soul for the first time ever is very important, Canadians will not need to wait until either Hockey team plays in the gold medal game in order to see that gold. Medal hopefuls in the early days such as Jennifer Heil, Manny Osborne-Paradis, Charles Hamelin, Kristina Groves and Alexandre Dilobeau to name a few will lead Canada off to a strong start and give much needed momentum to athletes competing later on in the games. Once the pressure of the first gold medal has been relieved… I expect Canada will take off and come the end of Vancouver 2010, will be atop the medal standings will Germany and the United States of America.

As the games move along, you can find out daily who to watch for and what Canadians are medal hopefuls in what events (so you aren’t stuck flipping back and forth between Canadian and American coverage trying to find out what event you should be watching and who to look out for) @ http://www.lionsdenu.com/category/sports/thecoachs-vancouver-2010-olympic-guide-to-canadian-gold/

Best of luck to all Canadians athletes… regardless of your outcome, you will all make a nation proud.

With the winter Olympics just a couple of weeks away I was searching for a way to get ready for Olympic competition and video games seemed to be the perfect answer. Sadly the only one available is Vancouver 2010. The Official Videogame of the Winter Olympic Games. Developed by Eurocom and published by Sega, this Olympic title looks great and does a great job giving gamers the sense of speed you see in the Winter Games, however the title lacks any sort of depth and suffers from unforgiving AI, so much so that I have yet to get a gold in all events after playing for countless hours..!

If you walk out of the Vancouver City Centre Canada Line station and there they are, drawing crowds, whacking the tubs and honking their horn. It's just a sample of the new energy happening on Vancouver's downtown streets, including hundreds of 2010 volunteers wearing their light blue "smurfs" uniforms.

f you are one of these lucky ticket holders, you may be at the stage of trying to find a place to stay during this exciting event. With hotels nearly at capacity, there are some great options for lodging. Vancouver has relaxed its bylaws, allowing for homeowners to rent out their homes during the Games!!
