I think summer offers more variety (or a much greater number of events from the list you have here) and is generally more popular just because of that.
I like both Olympics. They both have great things to offer.
Gymnastics, swimming, diving and running in the summer and hockey, skiing, snowboarding and skating in the winter.
Canada also tends to do better in the winter.
if there was an unbalanced number of fans they would take some of the summer games and put them in winter. for example is there any reason gymnastics, which takes place inside, occurs in the summer rather than the winter? that must mean there are just as many people who watch winter as there are summer.
i like summer better than winter just because i don’t have any real interest in the winter events. i don’t like all summer events either but i like a lot more in the summer than in the winter.

I am a fan of the summer Olympics, in my experience it seems to have been more publicized than the winter Olympics. Also, as I live in a fairly warm climate and very far from places you can take part in most of the winter Olympics (except perhaps for skating), my interest has always been in sports I take part in myself.
Without a doubt I like the Summer games more. I watch a variety of events for Summer but for Winter I only watch if it is the only thing on.
The winter Olympics in my personal opinion are much better than the summer, the cross country skiing for example takes a hell of a lot of endurance and stamina, these guys are fit!
Definitely the winter games. I love skiing and anything to do with snow. It’s a lot more exciting to watch skiing events.
I hate the cold – even looking at snow gives me the shivers
Give me Archery, Cycling or anything to do with water any day
Years ago I think the summer games had the edge. In recent years there has been much more buzz about events like, Snowboarding, and Short track speed skating It has brought a new viewers and new stars to follow. The old favorites like Alpine skiing, Bobsleigh, and hockey keep the die hard fans happy. Great TV and excitement summer and winter, i Love them both
I think by far the Summer Olympics gets a higher TV viewership but watching the winter olympics for me is so much more entertaining. Something about snow I guess. I mean bobsledding, and downhill skiing and jumping,.. snow boarding are all Xtreme style sports. Fun stuff!
I prefer the summer Olympics, but Winter Olympics also have spectacular events
I love watching the Olympics and am glad there are “2 seasons” unlike other sports where your season ends and the wait for a new season is endless.
I prefer the summer Olympics because firstly, there are more events to watch and the tension/excitement is incredible! Also, more countries tend to participate in the summer Olympics and I love seeing athletes from all over the world being so passionate and excited about their events! I love learning about athletes from countries I don’t see everyday. The main fact that the Winter Olympics exclude so many countries is a major turnoff for me. In the Winter Olympics, who participates? USA, Canada, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Poland, Iceland….Santa Claus and his reindeer. How boring! No one from the Caribbean, South America or Africa. The whole point of an Olympics is the togetherness/peace of two weeks to compete in sports. During the Winter Games what, 15 countries compete? What about the rest of the world? Blah! Boring! Granted, snowboarding looks cool but the other events are blah!
your retarted..in the 2010 winter games there is 86 events. Your list is a bit short of that dont u think?
Thanks for your comment JordsMan. These are just the categorys for the individual events. All 86 of those events fits into one of the categories that I listed. You can see on http://www.vancouver2010.com/ that the same 15 categories are listed across the top of their page as well.
um dude…baseball and softball arnt in the summer olympics anymore…maybe do a LITTLE research b4 u post ur blog…
